Platinos (Bananas) A Room with A View !

My Photo .. ! Textures are mine. Created for Award Tree’s Signal Spring Contest

Outside of my second floor window grows ... bunches of platinos (bananas).

My neighbor grows and harvests banana fruit as well as the leaves..

Most Maya cook chicken, pork, beef wrapped in banana leaves in underground pits similar to the Polynesians and Hawaiians ... this cooking style is called "pibil" and yes it is DELICIOUS when vegetables including lots of tomatoes and onion are added ...

Like many in my pueblo, my neighbor doesn’t have a stove … all of their cooking is done over a backyard open fire or in their “pibil” pit.

And my new house’s crumbling natural rock side fence is being repaired tomorrow. ("good fences make good neighbors" .. poem “Mending Fences” by Robert Frost)

My landlady told me that both of my own fruit trees (a zapote and mamey) have been plundered. She suspects the culprit is my banana growing neighbor.

I don’t blame him. HIS bananas are looking tantalizingly tempting.

HI Karl ! Does this photo fulfill your request ? :))

With erratic whiplash weather conditions (temperatures and humidity rising and falling by 20 degrees within 24 hrs.) many in my pueblo are sick and I’m tired too … doing my best to post all comments albeit slowly .. thank you for your patience.
