There's nothing like a real fire, especially when the central heating packs up!
So glad we insisted on a fireplace when we designed the studio. Extremely handy when the central heating boiler decides to keel over on a Friday night and there's no fixing it till at least Tuesday! So it's #backtobasics, #rollingbacktheclock to 2006, lugging armfuls of logs up three flights of stairs.
There's a joke my father in law likes to repeat where he says that a log fire always heats you twice over; once when you actually burn the logs and twice when you fetch the next lot!
