Signalman and "Bradley Manor".

The way things used to be. Former Great Western Railway steam locomotive 7802 "Bradley Manor" approaching Bewdley South Signal Box on the Severn Valley Railway. The manor was hauling a special charter train - the 2.15 p.m from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth on the SVR Working Timetable on Tuesday April 19th 2016. The signalman is Severn Valley volunteer David Pugh. With the line closed to the public for the day, it was supposed to be a very quiet afternoon but there was a flurry of activity at Bewdley with a Class 50 diesel and train load of concrete sleepers ready to depart in Bewdley station, and a Class 20 diesel on the way. The locomotive is carrying the headboard Frank Cronin. This photograph was used on the front cover of Severn Valley Railway News, Summer 2016.
