The chapel is remarkable: built in 1617, it looks from the outside just as you might expect. The inside however, is quite another story. Jos Ritzen and Walter Steenhoudt were given the task (1960) to build the crypt and rebuild the chapel upwards from there, without affecting the outside. They created something light and beautiful, with brutalist features.
