Former HMS Wilton at Leigh on Sea.

25th September 2006 at Leigh on Sea. I did not know the name nor the purpose of this boat but thanks to Andy I now know it to be ex HMS Wilton which was a minesweeper before being converted for use as the Essex Yacht Club HQ - see Andy's comment below.

According to Wikipedia she was built by Vosper Thornycroft and was commissioned in July 1973. She was a prototype coastal minesweeper/minehunter for the Royal Navy. She was the first warship in the world to be constructed from glass-reinforced plastic In service with the Royal Navy she was nicknamed "The Plastic Duck" or "Plastic Pig".
