Banchango
Two Class 37 Locomotives at Eastleigh.
Friday 16th July 1992 by Eastleigh Station and contrasting noses on 37031 and 37075. At some time 37031 has been rebuilt with a combined head code box (since panelled over) while 37075 still retains the split boxes (again since panelled over) which would originally have been separated by a corridor connection fitted for when the locomotive was working in multiple with another. These connections were seldom used and were soon removed.
37031 was built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry Works in 1961. It was withdrawn in 1994 at sent for scrapping three years later.
37075 was built in 1962 by English Electric at the former Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn works in Darlington. After being withdrawn it found its way into preservation and is currently operational on the Churnet Valley Railway.
