A Walk Over The Bridge Over The River Kwai.
One of my favourite places in Thailand is Kanchanaburi where the bridge most associated with the film Bridge Over The River Kwai is situated. My first trip there was on 27th September 1994 when this photograph was taken. I remember that after coming up the river on a long tail speedboat we were put ashore on the side of the bridge away from the town and bridge railway station. We then walked across the bridge which is something which in most railway systems would be frowned upon but which the tourists (and some locals) are encouraged to do here. It is safe enough as there are escape areas at intervals on the bridge and trains which give plenty of warning of their arrival cross the bridge very slowly.
