GWR 5952 Cogan Hall
Great Western Railway Hall Class 4-6-0 5952 Cogan Hall on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway on Sunday 30th August 1987. Shortly before it was withdrawn in 1964 this was the last steam locomotive I travelled behind on a normal timetabled service on British Railways. This was from Hereford to Cardiff. I remember that I was disappointed that my return journey was in a DMU.
Cogan Hall is now on the Llangollen Railway where it still awaits restoration.
