Canal Boat at Godnow Bridge (1)
Monday 13th May 1996. Narrow boat on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal at Godnow Bridge, North Lincolnshire. After the boat has passed it will be moored again while a member of its crew closes the electric swing bridge.
On the right can be seen the old crossing keeper’s box on the remains of the station. This has since been demolished and replaced by a modern but sympathetically designed building. The level crossing is out of sight but then as now was worked by the crossing keeper leaving his box and pushing or pulling the crossing gates by hand.
