Steam Traction Engine built by William Foster & Co.

Sunday 14th August 1988 at Trent Park Steam and Country Fair and this small steam traction engine was on display . It towed a small trailer which allowed it to give rides around the fairground. It carries the name of William Foster & Co. Lincoln on its smokebox. This company’s history can be traced back to 1846. It mainly built agricultural equipment. During WW1 it built army tanks and later used a tank as its logo. It was taken over in 1960.
