New Crossing Keepers Box at Godnow Bridge.

Monday 4th September 2006 at Godnow Bridge. Swing bridge over the Stainforth & Keadby Canal, the level crossing and the new crossing box. The old signal box had to be demolished before it fell down and although the new structure does not have all the character of the old it is not bad for a modern building. It certainly does not look out of place on the remnant of a platform from the long closed Godnow Bridge Station. The crossing keeper still opens the level crossing gates by hand. At least now he does not have to go up and down stairs every time he comes out to open and then close the gates.
