Fortuna 37 Sailing Catamaran "Island Spirit Elegante"
Built by Fortuna Catamarans of South Africa, this is the luxury model called an "Island Spirit Elegante". Most "Island Spirits" are used within the charter yacht market around the world due to their spacious internal design & layout, but this one has always been a private vessel.
The vessel features full walk-around decks, a large easily accessible aft deck, wide sugar scoops and enormous storage solutions. It makes an ideal live-aboard long distance cruising home for serious sailors, and is fitted with a taller, stronger double spreader rig, bigger self-tailing winches for single-handed operation and more powerful 23hp diesels. Higher graded deck gear is also fitted, and no expense has been spared with the electronics. She also boasts larger "mini keels" for added stability and ease of careening. Ample power is on hand with new batteries, solar panels and a wind generator. Water is no problem with a 70 litre per hour water maker installed.
Internally there are four double cabins and two toilets / showers, and the fully equipped galley is large providing plenty of bench space, and the large saloon wraps around a solid wooden table. A large cockpit at the rear provides an excellent entertainment area.
