Summertime in the Southland

It's a typical summers afternoon along the Mississippi River in south Louisiana... Canadian National EMD 8858 and company have the 18,000 chemical-laden tons of train L516 well in hand as they cross the newly-constructed Bonnet Carre Spillway bridge west of New Orleans. A nasty summer frog strangler is making its presence known along the former Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Main line as strong outflow winds kick up the healthy grasses that line the bottom of the spillway here. Before 516 gets all the way across the turgid skies will unleash their torrent of heavy rain, pea sized hail, and constant, close, cloud to ground lightning that will last for over an hour before dying off. In a race against time to get the shot we beat the weather for once...
