Golden Hour on Copper Creek
KCS 4583 south crosses the famous Clinchfield Railroad Copper Creek trestle late on a gorgeous summer afternoon in southwest Virginia. Copper Creek sits at the confluence of Copper Creek and the Clinch River in the town of Speers Ferry, VA. Shortly after crossing Copper Creek the ethanol load will roll into the Clinch Mountain tunnel and pop out on the other side of the 4135 foot long Clinch Mountain in Kermit, VA. The out of town KCS power is run through from the interchange point in Chicago, Illinois, where the train is handed off from CPKC to CSX for forwarding to the terminus in Charlotte. More to come soon from this great trip I took back in July...
Thanks for looking!
