Red Sky at Night Sailors Delight....
A haze-fueled sunset on Pensacola Beach shows off some of the most incredible post-sunset afterglow I've ever captured. A 300mm telephoto shot captures well over 10 miles of beachfront on a cool and breezy first day of fall. The sand dunes dominate Gulf Islands National seashore all the way up to Portofino Resort. At Portofino the skyline begins, and does not end all the way up to the famous Pensacola Beach Pier. This shot was an amazing capture, as we had almost given up hope for good light. For about ten minutes the sky turned a wonderful deep orange/red on the horizon, and this telephoto captured it perfectly.
