Big Boy in the South
UP 4014, The Big Boy, flies south through Grosse Tete, Louisiana. The worlds largest operating steam locomotive was flying south down the Livonia subdivision towards their weekend stop in New Orleans. This was an impressive place to watch this massive steam engine fly by at track speed. Union Pacific 4014 was built in 1941 for the Union Pacific railroad in the height of World War Two. It is the only operating example of the monstrous alco steamer still around.
