B6385 - Lisette Coat

by CCL photos

Finally finished this coat. Except for the first three photos (#23,# 24, and #25), I arranged them chronologically (#1 through #22) to illustrate process.

I love the pattern - cut a 12, usually a Butterick 8 fits me best, but after making a muslin in a size 10 - I decided I wanted more room to go over jackets, sweaters, etc.

I will probably make another one. If I go with a lighter wool, might go back to a size 10.

Red wool from FabricMart. The lining from Britex was more expensive than the wool. Fashion Sewing Supply for weft interfacing, WaWak for covered buttons kits (after buying two complete sets of other buttons). Size 14 needle, metrosene poly thread. Wigam on hems...and to ease sleeves, purchased shoulder pads.

Other details in the photo descriptions.
