Ironing beeswaxed silk thread for pad stitching

I don't have a dedicated sewing room. I do most of my hand sewing at the table - iron board and iron are upstairs, and the sewing machine is in the little area at the bottom of the stairs.

 

This is my quick solution to needing an iron to melt the beeswax into the silk thread for the handwork. Sleeveboard at the table!
