Project START
START stood for Spacecraft Technology and Advanced Re-entry Test, a 1965 follow on to the ASSET project, who's small spacecraft resembled the planned DynaSoar manned vehicle. START was built by Martin for the USAF. Both projects were small-scale tests of designs and materials for controlled re-entry vehicles. No full-scale or manned tests were attempted. These vehicles were launched on Atlas-Agena boosters.
