Decorated Peat Pots

the pot on the left was covered entirely with tissue paper. The two pots on the right were decorated with permanent markers, which bled/faded much less when wet then the paint I tried. The yellow I was especially surprised came out so brilliant when the peat pots were wet. The peat pots do tend to crumble a little when handled, which erodes the designs.

The designs on the two on the right were ones I found that were used in 1st century in mosaics. The flower design seemed to be very popular. It's in a circle...though the green circle around it it hard to see. I read somewhere it was an early symbol of the Christian church and also seemed to be popular in Synagogues and such previous to Christianity.
