Rosalind Tries to Escape! Toy-in-the-Frame Thursday

As Mom neared home, she heard an unusually loud voice singing: "Ooh, I need your love, Babe/Guess you know it's true/Hope you need my love, Babe/Just like I need you..."

Mom knew it was Rosalind singing The Beatles' "Eight Days a Week." But why did Rosalind's voice sound as if it were booming through the door?

Mom soon found out: putting her key in the lock, she found the door was already unlocked

and Rosalind had somehow climbed high enough to be hanging onto the lock with a self-satisfied smile on her face!

Rosalind said, "Mom, I've had it! You cannot go to the Paul McCartney concert and leave me here! It's not fair! I've learned all The Beatles' songs so you have to take me!"

Mom's answer was firm: "I can't! You don't have a ticket. And I can't have a big bag with you sticking out of it--security checks what people bring, you know. Look, I'll have enough fun for both of us and..."

Rosalind interrupts: "'Enough fun for both of us'? There's no such thing! That just means, 'Stay home and be sad, Rosalind, while I'm having the time of my life.'"

"No, Rosalind; it means a) I love you; b) the answer is no; and c) I've put in way more years loving The Beatles than you have. We'll do something exciting soon that I'll let you pick and plan with the girls. Okay?"

"Okay, Mom. But remember: If you don't come through, I can climb up to unlock the door and let myself out! So, 'Don't let me down/Don't let me down...'"

"Yes, sing John's song, Rosalind! I really love him the most!"
