Cross Vine - Bignonia capreolata 4-4-2012 Lincoln Co. KY
This vine derives its name from the cross that can be seen in a cross-section of a stem. Two years ago, I took cuttings of a vine I found in Boyle Co. KY. and rooted them for myself. Since seeing this spring-blooming vine several years ago in the lowlands of western Ky., it has been one of my favorite plants. Spring migrant hummingbirds feed from this vine.
