My truly remarkable niece, Leni, is the only person who manages to keep my expectations and hope alive. Without her, I truly think the "not yet teacher" culture (a particularly demoralizing Cambodian response to any expectation of creativity, collaboration, or critical thought) would have killed all of my beliefs in a better tomorrow a long time ago.
Opportunity and a brighter future have never waited for people who could not accept responsibility for themselves. Do not expect the world to wait for you. Run up to the world, grab opportunity by the hand, and yell, "Take me with you now!"
