Europe2012first

I'm experimenting with a photo blog on this trip. TR and I are touring a bit before Eurofurence.
The flight over was uneventful except for being late on the first leg, which meant that I was later for all subsequent legs. I arrived in Washington DC at 10pm...for a 10:01 connection to Frankfurt. Fortunately, the gate was amazingly adjacent and they held the plane (a lot of people were later for connections, too-- I'm kind of amazed that the airlines cut it so short).
The delays finally caught up with us in Frankfurt, where we missed the Leipzig connection. This was the best leg to miss a flight though: Frankfurt airport is the European equivalent of Chicago, O'hare: plenty to see, do and shop.
Leipzig is a nice town, though we stuck to the train station and the mall connected to it. That's where we saw the huge variety of nibbler food: for rabbits, guinea pics, hamsters, etc. I've never seen such a wide selection of various grasses and flowers. I took a ton of pictures for you, Karena!
At a food store I was re-acquainted with my favorite German snacks: NicNacs, Kinder Eggs and the like.
Pics of food: I'm trying to be a better foodie and take pictures of the meals -before- I am nearly finished. Our first meal in Germany: Nuremburg style sausages and some kind of schnitzel. Delish!
