London: Camden Market
by furtech
I'd read about this place in a book recently and decided to check it out. Wow. I used to think Melrose Avenue was hip/chic, but this place is -crazy-!
Clothing that covers the entire spectrum, weird gee-gaws, $15 didgeridoos, fast-food from all corners of the earth (the "Mexican" place cracked me up), all in a gothic setting. Half of the market is in an area that used to house horses (the origin of the market?), with some shops housed in former horse stalls. There are fantastic bronze statues of horses and horse-related themes, from life-size to gigantic. This place is a feast for the eyes, with outrageous sights wherever you turned.
This place has to be seen to be believed.
