Pet Expo 2010 Orange County

The annual Pet Expo at the Orange County Fair Grounds. All manner of animal on display or up for adoption. I was helping out at the Border Collie Rescue (of Southern California) booth pimping used dogs.
The year we had an exceptional group of adoptees: fantastic dogs with great personalities! My two favorites were Squeaky (a red border collie-kelpie mix) and Ripley, who bore a remarkable resemblence to R0ndo in both looks and manner.
We adopted out about ten dogs this year-- by the end of the show there were just empty cages at the booth (a welcome sight!).
This was a welcome weekend of dogs and exhaustion. I (literally) the dogs around the fairgrounds for excercise (for both of us) and had the usual emotional highs (dogs getting great homes) and lows (non-adoptions) throughout the weekend. After a week at work dealing with politics and pressure, dealing with creatures devoid of human politics and failing economies was a refreshing change.
