photo 1 Front View

This is a drawing of the front view of my facial model that I have developed. I have added descriptive narrative to the drawing detailing the different aspects and features of the characters face.

The basic design from which I developed my facial character was a skull. From this I grew my idea into this gaunt deformed evil looking scared creature.

Starting from the top and working downwards I wanted to create something distinct and unique for the head so I gave it a triple set of deformed horns on each side of its skull. I created the skull with decaying skin to avoid giving it a natural human look. I have removed a portion of the skull at both sides of the head to reveal the fleshy parts of the creatures brain. When it came to the ears I saw an opportunity to create an intriguing pair of deformed elf like ears. I also gave each ear a giant hole in each lobe (as sported by todays chavy youth) to make it look more disgusting and evil. I have given the face deep inverted eye sockets with tiny eyeballs to give a more sinister and menacing demeanour. To make the face more interesting and scary I have got bones protruding from the upper part of the cheek bones on each side of the face and also multiple sets of bones protruding from each side of the chin.

To give the face a more ghoulish look I have created holes at either side of the creatures face where decaying flesh and bone can be seen. I have noticed on pictures of monsters and demons that the lips are missing revealing flared gums so as to make the viewer cringe and reel back in horror. I have therefor replicated this look in the creature I have created.

I have based the teeth on a character that appeared In an episode of Dr Who, monster vampire / fish people. Seeing their teeth that were rotten sharp and jagged I thought they had the ideal look for my monster that complemented the other characteristics of its face.

I have coloured the face red as it represents and gives a clear indication of the evil, demonic and menacing characteristics of my character. As you will notice on the face there are darker shades of red which I have used to portray depth and enhance the characteristics of the face. For the colouring of the bones and teeth I have used a progressively lightening shade of yellow / brown as the bones / teeth protrude from the skull. For the colouring of the eyes I combined together a mixture of yellow, orange, red and black to create a fiery ash look as can be seen in the film "Ghost Rider" when he uses his controlling pediment stare.
