NS 25N Oak Harbor, OH

After a disappointing morning filled with high clouds, The Sham and I were about to start heading home when we realized that 25N might be in the area with a Ferromex unit on the point. After making a few phone calls which confirmed that it had already passed through Bellevue, we reasoned that the only place it could be was the yard at Sandusky.

As it turned out, the train was sitting at Sandusky awaiting permission out onto the Chicago Line and we arrived just in time to see it depart and begin our chase west. As the train approached Oak Harbor, the dispatcher informed the crew that they would need to stop in town to wait on 184 which was taking the connection onto the Toledo District ahead of them. This stroke of good luck resulted in several cheater shots which served as a great end to what would have most likely been a miserable day trackside.

In this scene, the colorful FXE-BNSF duo get train 25N rolling west past the grain elevator in Oak Harbor, Ohio, along the former New York Central Waterlevel route.
