BILHARZIA
I am a Pathologist by day.......saw this down my microscope at work and thought it looked quite abstract. It's a photo of the bladder wall and the ovoid dark purple structures are what Bilharzia parasites look like at 150X magnification. Most of the east flowing rivers In KZN are infested with this parasite. These parasites mate in the bladder wall and the female lays eggs in the wall which burst into the bladder and the host then urinates the eggs into the river again and thus the life cycle starts again. A single dose of a drug called Praziquantal kills them instantly.
