VH-CAO
VH-CAO ~ Hawker Siddeley HS.125 1B.
Delivered to Australian Department of Civil Aviation January 1965 to be used as a pilot examination craft. Then on 24 January 1967 it was landed wheels-up at Avalon whilst on a training detail. The pilots were distracted by the need to give way to a departing Mirage. Fire broke out in the rear fuselage due to leaking fuel.
It was taken to Hawker de Havilland at Bankstown for repairs, during the repair process the original Viper 521s were replaced with increased-thrust 522s. The aircraft thus became HS.125-3B and returned to service
What remains now rests at the Oaks Airfield.
