Almaty - Zenkov Cathedral

The soviets discouraged religion, and the historic Zenkov cathedral, over 100 years old, was used as a museum during their time. It is now renovated, in excellent repair, and full of worshipers, many of them young, on Sunday. The cathedral was built in the middle of Panpilov Park in downtown Almaty.
