Prayer flags at the Lalung La pass

The Tibetans believe that the wind will carry prayers written on flags all around the world, helping to bring universal salvation. The prayer flags are of five different colors, each representing one of the elements of which the world is made. Mountain passes are great places for prayer flags, because they are high and the winds there are strong.
