Cassius blue butterfly

After a good long rain scads of tiny butterflies were flittering about. According to Florida Museum Wildflowers and Butterflies this is a male Cassius Blue the wingspan is 15-25mm, it’s small and they don’t sit still for long so I was thrilled to get a few frames in focus. This little one is getting nectar from a tall blue verbena bloom that’s about 2 inches in diameter. The flower looks purple to me but the growers say it’s blue :}
