Dew drop in gulf fritillary butterfly
This male butterfly was settling in for the evening when I got too close. It took flight above my head and I took note where it landed and the next morning it was in the same spot as where I'd seen it the evening prior so an opportunity presented to get a photo. Viewing on the big screen I noticed an overnight companion in the upper right corner of the photo on the underside of the leaf so in essence this was double the pleasure photo op.
There’s a lot of translucent white bugs and my limited research thinks that this one is a wood mite. Anyone who can confirm or correct the conclusion is welcome to add input.
