Take it to the limit
How many times have we seen this sort of shot? Half a million? More? Less? Over the years I've taken a handful of this compositions and this is the first I've posted however since beginning the swamp series it's become apparent that there is a place in my portfolio for it. In a swamp Cypress trees have an abundance of light and water essential to their growth and with an abundance of both the sky is the limit for how tall they grow. While scanning the canopy from a boardwalk for a songbird the height of the trees caught my attention as I stood at the base of their trunks it became clear that although I am supposed to be superior as far as thought and abilities these trees towering above that we are just ants in the big picture.
