The Kids are ok

It had been a month since seeing my deer friends and I wondered how they were growing and learning while I was away from them. It wasn't long after getting back into their world that I took this photo of the mother doe and fawn in a bonding moment. The fawns spots are fading and some of the older ones are nearly as tall as the adults and their bright golden coats are dulling to the autumn browns but still brighter than the adults. I was concerned that one fawn was missing from the group the first time I saw them all together and it was several days before they were once again all accounted for which set my mind at ease.
