Disc Odyssey 2009

In our small local league (HUDL) there is a wide range of skill levels who all play together due to the small number of people in the league. "Hammersmith & Cravats" is a team made of the more skilled players who travel to different tournaments.
For the Disc Odyssey in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, they had a shortage of girls on the team so I was asked to join them. I was really intimidated at first, and thought I would be a little bit in over my head playing on the B-Team. In the end, I am so happy that I went. By being the least advanced player on the team, I really had to step up my game to be able to compete n the same level as everyone else. I feel like I learned a lot by pplaying with them, and my defensive skills had realy improved.
We played really well, too! Though we did not get to play in the finals, we did make it to the semi-finals. The team mentality and dynamic was far different from those of the teams I have played with before. I hope a have a chance to play in more tournaments in summers to come.
