John Ellis says: I wrote: "The centre is very good but what makes the shot are the drinking on the right and the smoke canister on the left."

John Ellis says: There is enough action in this to satisfy several photos. Everything captures the viewer's attention, from the boy doing his handstand to the plane dodging flying sand. An impressive shot.

John Ellis says: Two for the price of one. What I like about the shot is the way the sun is brought in to it, as that enhances the lining up of the two methods of transportation.

John Ellis says: Pamela wrote: "Like the diagonals here, a lively moment with plenty of interest. Love the central figure getting all the attention, adjusting his tie while looking so cool. Can almost hear the female out of the shot on the rhs giving directions!"

John Ellis says: I both admire and am not too keen on this shot. Technically it is very good and its big plus is to make the viewer wonder what exactly is going on. The downside for me is that when one does know, one is left feeling that the shot is a bit empty. But I include it because it is so well executed and is, in its way, quite a classic.

John Ellis says: Wonderful observation of the group dynamic and how the activity is tailored and, in this particular instance, executed.

John Ellis says: I wrote: "A wonderful mix of tranquility and action. Like the way his swing to the left is at odds with the symmetry of the trees."

John Ellis says: This is one of the slower shots I liked; particularly for the way the right, front paw is captured: it is so typically feline.

John Ellis says: Movement here is indeed frozen, as I fear the woman is too. The viewer cannot be sure what is going on but there is enough in the shot for one to be concerned about what exactly the man is up to. A subtle approach to the instruction.
