Rain Forest Falls

Under a banyon tree canopy water carves volcanic basalt, forms plunge pools, and becomes a confluence of Nu’uanu Stream. Orographic rain endlessly dissects the forest covered Ko’olau volcano. Eventually, water wins, as it always does, and the island will be eroded to a coral atoll.

From lofty orographic peaks,

A stream through island rainforest leaps.

In tumbling, silvery, glistening mirth,

It cycles back to its ocean birth. -RW
