i smell ambivalence

fox has gone from being strictly an indoor kitty to now making daily journeys into the backyard, usually accompanied by lulu. the transition was mostly made possible by lulu's newly acquired ability to open the screen door with her nose. she never closes the door and then the two of them come and go as they please. they spend most of their time eating grass together.

 

it's still unclear if fox appreciates lulu's company or if he would rather be out there alone. he often relaxes his guard to the point where he will nuzzle lulu's face. then, a minute later, he will come to his senses and swat at her. in other words, lulu is learning the subtleties of kitty roulette.
