Papanasam is a small town about 50kms from Tirunelveli City in the
southern State of Tamilnadu in India.The River Thamirabarani which has its origin from a lake in the Podhigai Hills which
form part of the Western Ranges,
enters the plains at Papanasam.Papanasam is a tourist resort well-known for its Shiva Temple,Agasthiyar Falls,also called Papanasam Falls,the Thamirabarani river&Dam and a few more.There are facilities for bathing in the falls..During our
visit the water flow from the falls was meagre because it was not season time.The right season is between June to November.In the back ground of the majestic Podhigai Hills the scenery was beautiful and peaceful.
