img250, Hoboken, NJ. October 1983.

As late as 1983 one could wander out into the New Jersey Transit Yard at Hoboken. All of the locomotives in this photo are GE U34CHs manufactured between 1970 and 1973. They were built for Erie Lackawanna commuter service with funds provided by NJ DOT. I walked out here with friends Alex Mayes, Teresa Renner, and the late Martin Ozga.
