LMS Finest at High Scales

Well it just doesn't get any better than this and my thanks to WCR for making this happen today. The start of the 'Christmas Santa' runs from Lancaster-Carlisle and back could not have got off to a better start. Yes the weather could have been better but at least it was dry. With hardly a breath of wind the sound of the two engines could be heard working hard well before the two ex LMS loco's came into view and what a sight they made. At the front single chimney Jubilee Class No 45562 'Alberta', (really No 45699 'Galatea') given a new identity and livery of a former long gone classmate, with Royal Scot Class No 46115 'Scots Guardsman' double heading over Shap seen here at High Scales. The exhaust just hung in the air long after the pair had stormed through a marvellous sight on Shap. It was great to see Andrew Southwell, David Horner and Michael Anderson at this location today one to remember!
