The Pendle Dalesman LMS Jubilee 45699 'Galatea' Dandry Mire

My intention was to do the shot at Dent Head viaduct but on arrival I discovered work going on with scaffold up the east side. So a quick turnaround and a drive to my second option at Garsdale. Walking over the old Hawes line and up Garsdale Common I stopped to gather my breath and check on the shot. I intended to go a little higher but when I was just about to gather my bags I had a shock when 45699 came racing through Garsdale station. No time to move and a quick grab of my camera from the bag and a few shots were fired. Running 23 minutes early LMS Jubilee Class, 4-6-0, No 45699 'Galatea' looks the part crossing the 12 span, 681ft long and 50ft high Moorcock or Dandry Mire viaduct in beautiful sunshine. Wild Boar Fell can be seen in the background and on Garsdale Low Moor sheep graze unaware of the Jubilee passing. One lone photographer stands on Low Moor maybe getting done by the drifting low exhaust. Just visible between the exhaust and support coach is the 1876 Mount Zion Chapel on the Garsdale-Hawes road.
