Electric Mountain

One of the classic views from Dinorwic Quarry, Electric Mountain is the First Hydro Company's visitor centre.

 

It's an impressive sight and with the backdrop of the Snowdon range, it really makes for a fantastic view.

 

I didn't get to do a tour of the power station when I was here, to be honest, I didn't really know what this place was until I'd got back home and started researching more. The tour of the power station does look like a great thing to do though, and I think I'd do one next time I go up.

 

This photo is a five shot pano, to get the whole of the scene in. Taken later in the afternoon just before sunset, the evening light hitting the tops of the mountains looked gorgeous, although the sunset was a bit of a letdown, with some hazy low cloud coming through the valley and obscuring the mountains.
