King cake

This cake is originally baked to celebrate Ephiphany, the 12th day after Christmas.

 

This one is not much to look at, but it's light, fluffy, and deliciously cinnamon-y. The inside is filled with cinnamon pastry cream. The recipe is from Rhonda Ruckman here: www.bonappetit.com/people/chefs/article/pastry-of-the-week-3
