Crème brûlée French toast

This wonderful recipe is from Marc Matsumoto at www.pbs.org/food/fresh-tastes/french-toast-brulee/ He has a secret for keeping the outside crispy and the inside custardy. Very easy for the average cook.

 

I never really knew the staggering amount of fat that these toasts absorbed. I got really happy with the butane torch and brûléed the lemon, too.
