Doberge cake
This New Orleans cake is based on the Hungarian Dobos. I received this recipe from a friend/co-worker who found it online from someone who got it from an issue of Better Homes & Gardens, “Cajun Cooking” in 1987.
This version has 6 elegant (and labor intensive) layers of butter cake with lemon curd filling and a cream cheese lemon-flavored icing. Very fluffy, moist, and not too tart. My favorite so far.
