1989, the anniversary year for the Dutch railways, had only just begun, when freight train 43103 derailed from the Kijfhoek to Venlo and further at Boxtel in the early morning of January 7. The train contained a number of tank wagons loaded with methanol, some of which caught fire. The damage was great and it took a few days before train traffic was possible again between Eindhoven and "'s-Hertogenbosch / Tilburg. The photo gives a good overview of the damage.
