A Tribe Called Quest - People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm

Released in April of 1990 this album just blew minds away.I really enjoyed what was happening musically with rap music in the 80's (Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, RUN DMC, Fat Boys, Kool Moe D, LL Cool J, Whodini, 3rd Bass, Eric B and Rakim, Beastie Boys, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul) and this album took all of that and ushered in a new wave of rap music.

The best thing is to share what our friend Wiki says about this album:

Their debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, released on April 10, 1990,was marked by a playful lyrical approach and light-hearted content such as safe sex, vegetarianism and youthful experiences. The music was an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, soul and rock samples."A Tribe Called Quest put no feet in the wrong place here. This is not rap, it's near perfection" The Source gave it the first "five-mic" rating in the magazine's history, and called it a "completely musical and spiritual approach to hip-hop.

Enough chatter here are a couple of musical gems and all time greats from the 90's, enjoy:
